Pulse vs Jotform

Last reviewed . Reviewed every quarter.

Jotform serves teams that collect information in forms, surveys and AI Agent chats, and then finish the task with e-signatures, payments and apps. Pulse, the AI-moderated research platform, serves research, insights and product teams, running customer interviews at scale and turning the conversations into structured findings. A Pulse vs Jotform decision starts with which of those a team needs.

When to choose Jotform

A team that writes many surveys of its own can start each one from Jotform's 8,000+ free survey templates, picking the nearest to its subject and changing the questions to fit, so a new survey is ready to send soon after the need for it arises.

Jotform publishes its prices on a pricing page with five tiers, from a free Starter plan to Enterprise on custom pricing, which lets a department try forms on a small scale before it asks for a budget, and move up a tier as more of its work runs through forms.

Jotform's Enterprise plan includes single sign-on, and Enterprise customers can buy access to a dedicated SOC 2 Type II environment as an upgrade. Jotform's security page lists HIPAA compliance features alongside GDPR, for teams whose forms collect health or personal details and whose security reviewers want those controls in place before the first form goes live.

Why a quote request was left unfinished is a question a team can put to customers inside Jotform, whose Survey AI Agents hold a survey as a dialogue with follow-up queries. Pulse suits the team that wants, from the customers' video answers, the on-screen behavior and emotion that Pulse's video insights pick up. The moments that explain a lost request can then be cut into Pulse highlight reels and clips, for the colleagues who decide what the quote form should ask next.

Moving from Jotform to Pulse

  1. Write the brief like a form-generator prompt. Jotform's AI form generator builds a form from a prompt, and a Pulse brief works in a similar way for an interview. Write down the research question the team's forms keep raising, the areas for the conversation, the kind of customer to reach and a screener that finds them, and Pulse builds the interview from all of it.
  2. Export the contacts before auto-delete runs. Where a Jotform form is set to delete its submissions automatically, export the contact details of respondents who agreed to be contacted before they are cleared. Upload that list to Pulse, which then invites them to interviews about what the form asked.
  3. Keep the chat format for chat respondents. Where the team ran surveys through Jotform's Survey AI Agents, run the first Pulse study as text-chat interviews, so customers used to typing their answers to an agent keep that format, and take the interview at their own pace.
  4. Rebuild the form around what customers said. Hand the themes to the people who maintain the Jotform survey. Where customers named a reason the form never offered as an option, it can go in as a new choice, with conditional logic showing the follow-up question only to those who pick it, so the form starts to count how often that reason comes up.

What both tools do with answers and links

Jotform and Pulse both bring AI into how a team reads what people say. In Jotform's ChatGPT app a team can ask questions about its form data, and on Pulse the team can put its own questions to the results of its interviews.

Jotform forms are shared by a team's own link, email or embed, which suits a team that reaches customers through its own channels, and a Pulse study can follow the same route as a shared link, placed wherever the team's forms already go out, such as a help page or an order confirmation email.

Jotform's version and Pulse's, feature by feature

Where people give their answers

Jotform takes answers in online forms, with voice through its Voice Recorder widget and video through File Upload, in its iOS and Android app with a kiosk mode, and in AI Agent chats. Pulse runs its interviews by voice, video or text chat, taken whenever suits each participant.

Reports from the answers

Jotform's Report Builder generates reports from form data, and its submissions can be exported as CSV, Excel and PDF files. Pulse generates a report automatically from a study's interviews, with themes grouped by what people actually said and the quotes behind each theme set under it.

Where the data goes next

Jotform's 200+ integrations, among them Google Sheets, Slack, PayPal and Salesforce, carry form data into a company's other systems. Pulse plugs into a team's existing tools and sends finished reports into Notion or Confluence through MCP, for teams that keep their plans and decisions in those pages.

Roles on each side

Jotform sets predefined user roles on its Enterprise plan, for companies where many staff build and read forms. Pulse assigns each user an Owner, Admin or Member role, for a research team that shares its studies with colleagues in other departments.

White-label options

Jotform offers full white-labeling on its Enterprise plan, covering the login page, domain and brand kit. Pulse supports white-label and agency use, and an agency can put its own name on the research it runs for clients.
