Research B2B buyers with AI interviews

Hear from each seat on the buying committees you sell to, from the user to the finance approver, including accounts your sales team has never spoken to, and learn which sources put a supplier on their shortlist.

Each seat heard in its own interview

A technical evaluator, a procurement lead and the executive who signs judge a supplier on different grounds, and none of them speaks for the others.

  • Recruited by committee role

Pulse recruits to the role and company profile the brief describes, an IT architect at a regional insurer or a procurement head in manufacturing, and checks each one for fraud, which reaches accounts that have never been in your CRM.

  • Senior buyers on their own clock

A chief financial officer will rarely book a research call. Here the interview waits until they open it, on a train or late in the evening, so the people who approve the spend sit in the sample alongside the users.

  • How the shortlist took shape

Buyers say which suppliers they knew of before any search, which ones a peer or an analyst added, and which were cut early and why, so the team sees how a long list of eight became a final three.

The world's most ambitious teams research with Pulse.

A map of the committee, by role

Laid side by side, the roles show where one argument serves the whole committee and where the finance approver or the evaluator needs a case of their own.

  • Who joins, when, and who can say no

The committee is drawn from the interviews: which roles enter at the long list, which only at approval, and which can stop a purchase outright, such as a security review or a procurement rule.

  • Trusted sources, role by role

Engineers name the communities and documentation they read, finance names the peer it called, and executives name the analyst or former colleague they asked, which tells marketing where each role needs to find you.

  • Objections heard before the pitch

Each role names what would slow or stop a purchase, the migration effort for an evaluator, a contract term for procurement, the risk of a failed rollout for the sponsor, so sales prepares answers before those doubts stall a deal.

How Pulse does it

  1. List the committee roles

  2. Recruit each role separately

  3. Set the roles side by side

  4. Brief marketing and sales

How it works

The method behind it

Organizations buy through a group, so research on B2B buyers has to reach several roles in the same kind of account: users, technical evaluators, procurement, finance and an executive sponsor, each weighing a supplier on different grounds. Studies usually interview each role separately, since a sponsor answers differently with an evaluator listening. The core topics are who took part at each stage, which sources each role trusted, how the shortlist was narrowed and which objections nearly stopped the purchase. Accounts that never became customers belong in the sample, because a customer list shows only the committees that already chose you. Senior people have little time, so the method has to fit their calendars or it ends up hearing mostly from users. Findings are reported role by role and compared across company size and industry. Win-loss analysis applies the same interviews to specific deals, won and lost, soon after the decision, which ties what buyers say to outcomes the sales team can count.

Committee findings that travel into sales

What carried the winning supplier

Asked why the chosen supplier won, buyers at different companies give a few recurring reasons. Grouped across many committees, those reasons show sellers which argument has carried deals like theirs, so the pitch can lead with it.

Sorted by go-to-market segment

Go-to-market planning splits the year by segment and sales coverage. Themes from the committee interviews can be sorted under those same segments, so the plan cites buyers where it assigns territory and coverage.

An architect's words behind the line

Marketing may want to say that IT architects value an easy rollout above price. Legal can check that line against the transcripts, finding which architects said so and in what words, before the claim appears in a campaign.
