When to choose Conveo

Sizing a finding and explaining it in the same piece of work is where Conveo's surveys come in, because they combine with AI-driven qualitative probes. A usage and attitudes study, for example, can count how a category is used and have the moderator ask for the reasons in the same study, which spares a brand team from commissioning the two halves separately.

A team that needs a particular consumer profile can recruit through Conveo's panel partners, which include Norstat, Bilendi, Sago and Rakuten as well as Respondent and User Interviews, and Conveo gives answers in days. That suits a study that has to reach a narrow consumer group, such as recent buyers of one brand, without the team sourcing the people itself.

Conveo's analysis clusters patterns and themes automatically and turns them into stakeholder-ready reports and slides, with analyzed results within hours. That suits an insights team whose findings have to reach a marketing or brand lead in a form ready to present. Its research experts also guide methodology and support adoption, which helps a team new to AI-moderated interviews set up its first studies.

Where a consumer question needs customers to argue it out among themselves, Pulse can bring several customers into one session as a focus group, alongside the one-to-one conversations. A brand team can hear a group of category buyers disagree about what makes a brand worth its price, then take the points that divided them into individual interviews within the same program.

Moving from Conveo to Pulse

  1. Start with the study run most. List the Conveo studies the team runs most often, such as its concept screens or its usage and attitudes work, and write the most frequent as the first Pulse brief, naming the question, what the moderator should probe, who qualifies and the screener that confirms it.
  2. Upload the customer CSV. A customer CSV the team loaded into Conveo uploads to Pulse as a list, and a shared Pulse link covers the open invitations the team used to post publicly, so the customers the brand already talks to are the first people asked, before any recruitment to a profile begins.
  3. Move the B2B work across. B2B studies that ran through Respondent's B2B panel on Conveo move to Pulse's recruitment of business buyers and experts. Write the buyer's job, company type and category into the profile and its screener, and Pulse recruits business participants to it, wherever in the world they work.
  4. Keep a survey beside the interviews. Where a study needs a count as well as the reasons, add a Pulse survey beside the interviews, so the survey answers how many people share a view and the conversations explain why they share it, and each result can be read in the light of the other.
  5. Send reels to the brand team. Brand managers who watched Conveo's quote reels get highlight reels and clips cut from the Pulse recordings, so a point in dispute can be settled by watching the customer say it rather than arguing over a summary of it.

Why Conveo and Pulse land on one shortlist

A consumer brand with a new pack, concept or ad for buyers to judge can test it on either platform, and that shared ground is why the two meet. Conveo tests concepts, packaging, creative, ads and claims, with AI follow-ups that build on what a participant said earlier in the conversation. Pulse's moderator follows each answer, and a vague reply gets a second question. Both also keep personal details out of the text a team reads. Conveo detects and redacts personal information in its transcripts, and Pulse redacts personal data from its transcripts.

Conveo beside Pulse on emotion, libraries and connections

Emotion cues and video insights

Conveo reads emotion cues from facial expression, voice and words. Pulse's video insights capture a participant's emotion together with what they do on screen, recorded alongside the answers they give, so a reaction to a pack or an ad can be seen as well as heard.

Quotes behind the findings

Conveo tags quotes and links its charts to the verbatims behind them. Pulse builds its themes from participants' own answers, with the quotes that support each, and every quote leads back to the transcript of the interview it came from.

A library queried across projects

Conveo's research library can be queried across projects, and its search runs across transcripts, quotes and themes. Pulse keeps every study's findings in one searchable repository, where a team starting on a new question can look up what earlier studies heard about it.

APIs and connections

Conveo runs as an open platform with an API and MCP. Pulse has a public API, sends findings into Notion or Confluence through MCP, and exports Word, PDF and CSV files for teams working outside those tools.
