Last reviewed . Reviewed every quarter.

What the price leaves out

The yearly rates, $39 a month for Experience Analytics and $79 for Voice of Customer, apply when yearly billing is set up in-app and paid by card or PayPal, and not when the purchase is paid by invoice, which matters to a company whose procurement team pays every supplier that way. A team buying both products, behavior data beside on-site feedback, gets 10% off the lower of the two plans.

Each Growth plan comes with a monthly allowance. At those yearly rates, the Experience Analytics plan covers 7k sessions and 7k replays a month, and the Voice of Customer plan covers 500 responses a month. At the limit, no new data comes in until the monthly reset, so a travel site recording booking sessions through a holiday peak checks that month's traffic against the allowance before it picks a plan. A free plan covers both products, and on it Contentsquare lists 10+ integrations, Slack and Jira among them, against 2 on Hotjar's own free plan.

For an ecommerce team whose session replays cover checkout and account pages, Contentsquare redacts personal data automatically in the browser. It publishes its subprocessors, AI services among them, and keeps its trust documents on the Contentsquare Trust Portal, so a retailer's procurement team can read both while the purchase is still a self-serve Growth plan, with no sales call in the way.

APIs and SAML single sign-on start on Pro and Enterprise, while Free and Growth sign in with Google OAuth, so an IT team that requires SAML across its tools is pricing a tier above Growth. A team that already holds a Hotjar account, with heatmaps, replays and survey results built up there, has a plan of its own, and how that plan's terms compare with Contentsquare's Growth prices is the question to put first.
