Privacy notice for interview participants

For people taking part in a Pulse interview: what is recorded, who sees it, how long it is kept, and how to withdraw.

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This explains what happens to your interview. Pulse runs this interview on behalf of the organisation that invited you.

What we collect

An audio recording of this interview and a written transcript of it. If the organisation running this study asked you for your name, email address or phone number before starting, we collect those too. We do not collect anything else from your device.

Why we collect it

Only to produce research insights for the organisation running this study. Your answers are analysed to summarise what participants said. We do not use your interview to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.

Who processes it

Pulse operates this interview on behalf of the organisation running the study, which decides why your responses are collected. Pulse uses service providers under contract: ElevenLabs (the voice conversation), OpenAI (the voice or text conversation, or analysing the transcript, when the study uses its models), Anthropic (analysing the transcript), Amazon Web Services (storage), and Google Analytics and PostHog (which pages you opened and whether the interview started or finished). The analytics providers never receive your recording, your transcript, your name, email, phone number or IP address. Your recording and transcript are stored in India.

How long we keep it

We keep your recording and transcript for as long as the organisation running this study needs them for the research, in line with that organisation's data-retention policy, which is 180 days by default. You can ask for them to be deleted sooner, and we act on deletion requests made through that organisation.

You can stop the interview at any time by closing the page or telling the interviewer you want to stop. To withdraw your consent afterwards, or to ask for a copy of your responses or their deletion, contact the research team at the organisation that invited you to this study. They are the people who decide what happens to your responses, and they can action the request with Pulse.
