When to choose Perspective AI

Perspective AI puts interviews inside the tools a product or customer team already runs. Its AI Interviewer reaches people through a link, an embed, email, Slack, WhatsApp or a voice call, and after a conversation it can update HubSpot or Salesforce or fire a webhook, so the outcome lands in the records the team already keeps, next to the account it came from.

A customer success team working through churn interviews gets sentiment analysis across all of them from Perspective AI. A Magic summary with shareable highlights passes the result on, interactive AI analysis takes the follow-up questions, and natural-language analysis sessions return charts, tables and cited sources, which fits a retention team that has to explain its churn numbers to the rest of the business.

Perspective AI lets a team choose among LLM providers, which suits a company whose security review names the models it allows, and its agent library includes an Insurance Concept Testing agent for insurers trying out a new product. A team that runs its research through AI agents built for particular jobs will find a library of them to start from.

Churn work often needs a count beside the reasons. Pulse can put a survey beside its interviews, so a team can hear why accounts leave and measure how many share each reason, and its video insights capture the emotion a customer shows on camera as they explain a decision, which a churn review can weigh alongside the reasons given in words.

Moving from Perspective AI to Pulse

  1. Brief Pulse on the churn question. Write the churn, discovery or feature question the team last put to Perspective AI, for instance why accounts on an annual plan leave at renewal, into a Pulse brief covering what to learn, the areas to cover, who should take part and the questions that screen them in.
  2. Move the account lists across. The accounts a churn study needs are usually known already. Export them from the CRM the team keeps, load them into Pulse as a customer list to contact, and place a Pulse link on the billing page for customers who cancel without speaking to anyone.
  3. Question the study before the renewal review. Once the churn study closes, the account team can go back into it with its own questions, such as which reasons came up most often, before it plans the next retention offer for the accounts still deciding whether to renew, while there is time to act on what they said.
  4. Brief the account managers on each reason. Export the report to Word or PDF, with each churn reason that came up most set out as a theme and the quotes behind it, and put it in front of the account managers before their renewal calls, so they know the reasons before they pick up the phone.
  5. Keep the study for next quarter. Pulse keeps the churn study's findings in its searchable repository, so next quarter's churn brief can start from the reasons already heard and spend its interviews on what has changed since, among the accounts that renewed as well as those that left.

The common ground between Perspective AI and Pulse

Perspective AI and Pulse come closest in the interview itself and in how it is read afterwards. Perspective AI's interviewer follows the thread of an answer and probes for specifics, much as Pulse's moderator follows each reply and asks for more when one is vague. Perspective AI then shows a key quote alongside its top theme, and Pulse keeps the quotes behind each of its themes, each one traced to its transcript, so on either platform a theme arrives with the words that support it.

Perspective AI and Pulse across groups, sourcing, output and connections

Synthetic respondents and multi-participant sessions

Perspective AI's AI Focus Groups generate three synthetic respondents from one prompt. Pulse runs focus groups with several people in one session, recruited to the study's profile or invited from a customer list, so a product team can hear customers react to one another as well as to the question.

Participant sourcing

Perspective AI sources participants as a service for teams that need them, and names Prodege as a panel partner. Pulse recruits participants to the profile the team's brief describes, business buyers and experts among them.

Where the findings go

Perspective AI exports to Google Docs, Notion and Confluence. Pulse exports to PDF, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and CSV, and reaches Notion and Confluence through MCP, so one set of findings can land in a wiki, a deck and a spreadsheet for the different teams that read it.

Building on the platform

Perspective AI offers an API, an Embed API and an MCP integration for the developers who build on it. Pulse has a public API, which a company's own engineers can use to connect Pulse to the systems the business already runs.
